Junk food is full of bad calories. Choosing the right meal or snacking on healthy high protein food, high fibre salads, fruits, fruit juices and milk products is a better option.
This was exactly the point that tiny tots of Joykids Preschool and Day Care and Joy School sent out through their “Eating Healthy Campaign”.
Message
Holding placards of greens, colourful vegetables and carrying messages like “Avoid junk, accept health”, they marched for a healthy cause.
The rally started at Jayanagar, Kukatpally, and went on to Nizampet Road, Mayurinagar and Miyapur covering various colonies in between.
Residents of the colonies joined the tiny tots in spreading the message.
Children explained the importance of incorporating good, healthy food in our daily diet, and the health hazards of consuming colas, burgers, pizzas and French fries.
The messages that the children recited drove home the point: “Junk food, junk food go away; healthy food, healthy food, come to me” and “start healthy, stay healthy”.
Dr. Pavan Kumar, Child Specialist, Mrs. Uma Swaminathan, Head - Global Art, Andhra Pradesh, along with Mr. Satheesh, Director of Joykids and Joy School took part in the rally.
It was a timely initiative by children to spread the message of good health as childhood obesity resulting from eating junk food and following a sedentary lifestyle is on the rise among students today.
