Our national flower is Lotus. It grows in water. It is considered as a sacred flower because Goddess Lakshmi lives in it. Lotus symbolises purity, wealth and knowledge.
Its leaves are round in shape and very stiff. In ancient times, its leaves were used for writing messages. It is a very beautiful flower.
