Let go

Below a spring-blue sky

A cherry blossom grew

Standing majestic in our garden

In a pretty pink hue.

 It was home to many

Birds, squirrels and insects a few,

It sweetly fed them at dawn

And rocked them all to sleep.

One day, a squirrel took more than its share

Others chased it down protesting,

This started a quarrel

And then began the uprising

 A furious war raged on

With the clouds, birds joining in,

The gale howled on

And so started the killing.

The cherry blossom lost its beauty

Happiness and power too,

It had no water, food or life

It began to droop.

It could no longer blossom for all eternity

Due to the wrath and bleeding,

It was too late when they realised

What craziness they had been breeding!

They lost their families, food and home

For just a little avarice,

If only we humans understood

Wouldn’t the world be amazing!|
