How’s it said?

Use verbs differently and make your conversations livelier. It depends on how you say it!

Arjun, the camper, yelled, “I have a terrible swelling on my nose!”

Vivek, the camp counsellor, asked, “How did it happen?”

Arjun cried, “I bent down to smell a BROSE!”

Vivek murmured, “But there isn’t a ‘b’ in rose…”

Arjun screamed, “There was, in this one!”

Right tone

That was a conversation between a camper and a camp counsellor. Humorous, isn’t it? Did you notice the introductory verbs, yelled, asked, cried, murmured and screamed, used to introduce the dialogue? They make the conversation livelier, don’t they? These verbs describe the voice or the tone of the speaker.

There are a lot of words you can use instead of ‘said’, depending on how it’s said such as joked, giggled, cried, sobbed, fumed, shrieked, stammered, agreed, begged, pleaded, responded, etc. It all depends on how it’s said!
