Kick the habit

November 04, 2013 05:33 pm | Updated 05:33 pm IST

As part of my lessons in school, I recently read in my Science textbook that there are many diseases that are caused by bad habits. These habits include smoking, alcohol consumption and use of drugs. Cigarettes contain nicotine and benzopyrene.

Alcohol consumption is another dangerous vice. So is the use of drugs. Most young people are addicted to one or more of such vices. At first, they try it out for fun, but then they get addicted to it and cannot get rid of the habit.

Spreading awareness is the only solution to tackle this.
