Is this development?

When I was studying in Std III, I had observed scenery. In my farm I saw many paddy fields and vegetable fields. I fully realised that this was indeed God's Own Country.

But after two or three years, they started to disappear. I thought it was to make way for the development of the State. Alas, year after year it only got worse. The fields started to become houses. Ponds became roads. And everybody supported this. The sound of water, singing birds all became extinct.

Now I am in Std IX. I tried to tell these people to cultivate plants but they don't seem to need them. I hope the new generation will fight against this.
