Have unlimited hours of fun with this puzzle book.

We have seen Hanuman emerge from the pages of the ancient epic to become a film and TV hero, an adorable cartoon character, and of course take various shapes and sizes in books. Now the ace devotee of Lord Ram is in the form of a puzzle and activity book published by Puffin India. A large number of children and their parents gathered at the launch of Alister Taylor's "Where's Hanuman?" at the Reliance TimeOut store in Ambience Mall, Gurgaon, recently.

Creative

Unveiling this unique puzzle and activity book, Taylor read out excerpts from his comic at the fun and creativity zone created specially at the store. The author was accompanied by a character dressed as Hanuman that drew the attention of the kids.

"Where's Hanuman?" helps children learn about the adventures of Hanuman and other characters in the Ramayan in an engaging and exciting way. The brainchild of Taylor and two gifted graphic illustrators, Christopher Woods and Ben McCintic, the 32-page book, beautifully illustrated, takes readers into the midst of exciting scenes from the epic.

Each of the 12 puzzle-scenes is packed with hundreds of humorous characters and dozens of sub-scenes.

The author said,

"I haven't unveiled the whole story of Lord Ram and Sita in my comic book. I have only used crisp narration in just twelve plots, and as many colourfully ornate drawings are suffused with mirth and mischief."

On why he chose Hanuman as the central character, he explained, "Ram is considered a deity. So is Hanuman, but Rama is more of a serious kind. With Hanuman you can create mischief and the monkeys accompanying him can be made funny and playful. The book is a hit with the kids in the West. I hope kids here, too, would find it interesting."

The author did seem to keep the kids as well as the adults fully engaged as they tried to find the characters cleverly hidden in the book.

"We are delighted to have Alister Taylor in our store presenting his book for children.

It is the aim of the Reliance TimeOut Book Club to constantly have exciting and engaging book readings, launches and events at the store and this is another event in this direction.

I am sure the readers will love the book," said Deepinder Kapany, Business Head, Reliance TimeOut.

"Where's Hanuman?" is now available at Reliance TimeOut stores across the country. At Rs.125 , it seems a bargain all right.
