A ten-day workshop in art was enjoyed by the kids as they learnt new craft work.

It was a ten-day craft workshop called “Colours – Way of Art”. Children from Std. IV to X from Presidency School, Cambridge School, Lourdes Central School, Canara High School (Urwa), Sharada Vidyalaya and Vivekananda School participated in the workshop.

Reshma Shetty, artist and craft teacher, said the workshop encourages children to think of innovative ideas. They are also taught to recycle waste, tie-and-dye and clay-modelling, she said.

Use waste

Manasi, a student of Std V, Lourdes Central School, said that she enjoyed clay-modelling, particularly making elephants out of clay.

“Until I got down to making clay models, I was under the impression that the task was difficult, but now it seems to be one of the easiest,” she said.
