Lisa got into the school bus and thought of ways to fool her friends. Her friend Max hopped in at the next stop and sat next to her.

“Have you come prepared?” asked Lisa, unable to control her excitement.

“Oh, yes! I have a special gel, which when poured on a notebook will look like an ink spill. But it can be peeled off safely. What do you think?”

“I think that is a very good idea!” Lisa exclaimed.

They reached school and could hardly contain their excitement till the school assembly was over. When everyone went back to class, Lisa and Max noticed that their class teacher Ms. Mary was not to be seen. They asked the substitute teacher Mr. Sam about it. This could upset their plans. But Mr. Sam ignored their query and announced that he was going to give the class a Math test. He started distributing the question papers.

While the class was busy writing the test, Ms. Mary sneaked out of a closet near the table and took Mr. Sam’s place. After a few minutes, Ms. Mary announced “Time is up!” When the class looked up, she grinned and said “April Fool!”

The whole class was taken by surprise. “Ma’am, this is not fair!” they said and crowded around her. Meanwhile, Lisa quietly took the attendance register and handed it to Max, who poured his special gel on it, and replaced it before the class could settle down.

When Ms. Mary took the attendance register, she was shocked. “Who did this?” she shrieked, pointing at the ink spill. Immediately, Lisa and Max ran to Ms. Mary and peeled off the gel and shouted “April Fool!”
