The moment Lisa got on the bus, she and her friends got to work. Lisa taped a piece of paper, on which her friend had written something, on Andrew’s back. She carefully tucked a remote-controlled cockroach on Julie’s hair. Lisa was pleased with her work as no one else in the bus had noticed.

Andrew and Julie always picked on their classmates. Lisa had decided to surprise them today. When they reached school, Andrew and Julie both got off the bus. Lisa and her friends held their breath. Everyone started laughing at Andrew. He looked around startled. He didn’t know the cause of the outbursts and he too started laughing. This caused everyone to laugh even harder. Then, Andrew realised that everyone was laughing at him. Julie stepped up to him and took the note off his back and smiled. It read “Happy April Fools Day! Laugh at me!”

And then someone from the crowd screamed, pointing at Julie’s hair. Lisa activated the remote control. The cockroach ran down Julie’s braids. She ran around in circles screaming in horror. Lisa walked up to her and took the cockroach off. “Happy April Fools Day! Don’t worry, it’s fake.”

Andrew and Julie laughed at the joke. “Next time, we’ll get you,” said Julie as she laughed.

“I better watch out,” replied Lisa, as she laughed with them.
