Chamki and Googly on how kids can keep the city clean and green

A laugh riot broke out at The Hindu's Delhi office as Chamki and Googly, the two talkative muppets from Pogo's infotainment series Galli Galli Sim Sim, made a stopover.

The intelligent Chamki said she was a proud grown up five-year-old, and went to school. “I go to school. I've a lot of friends there. I learn a lot of things. It is great fun going to school, everyone should go to school,” she said in a single breath.

Googly, the six-year-old, also said that he went to school but as he was about to explain the importance of schooling, the chirping Chamki chipped in, “Children have a very important role in the improvement of the society.” She continued, “With the Commonwealth Games round the corner, we, the children can contribute a lot to our city, in keeping it clean and green.”

Talking about how the children can contribute to the cause, Chamki said, “We should save electricity and water. Just imagine how difficult would life be if there is no water on the planet. How am I going to bathe then?”

Googly asserted that we should always try and keep our city clean. He said we should not throw garbage on the streets and use dustbins.

“Clean things always look beautiful. See…I also look beautiful,” interrupted Chamki.

Focussing on health and hygiene, Chamki said we should always eat healthy and hygienic food.

Regular exercise and personal hygiene is also a must for a sound mind and body.

“Even Boombah, the big lion at Galli Galli Sim Sim eats fresh carrots”.
