Monster, monster, below my bed,
Green ‘n’ blue ‘n’ black ‘n’ red.
He went chomp! Chomp! At my head,
One second slower, and I'd be dead.
On the day my uncle was to wed,
He came out from below the bed.
Far away the terrified guests fled,
To minimal safety, provided by our shed.
I though, knew all too well, his unique taste,
And so, not entirely pleased, made haste,
Thus, promptly whipped up for him a salad,
Murky, but bound to suit his palate.
He gobbled it up,
Then, well fed,
Belched, growled,
And went back to bed.
