Have you heard of Ruskin Bond? Have you read his books ?

Ruskin Bond was born on May 19, 1934. He is an Indian author of British descent. He spent his early childhood in Jamnagar and Shimla. When he was ten, he went to live with his grandmother in Dehra Dun. When he completed his high school education, he went to England. It was there that he began to write his first novel, The Room on the Roof . This book won him the John Llewellyn Rhy Prize in 1957. With the prize money Bond bought his passage back to India.

He lives in Mussorie and writes poetically about this beautiful town in the Himalayan foothills. Since 1964, he has lived in Ivy Cottage, Landour, Missouri.
