An evening with Mr. Bond

It was the most awaited moment of my life. I am grateful to my school for having given me this golden opportunity. The day before our school’s annual day function, I was excited that I was going to meet my favourite writer, who has penned many of my favourite stories. I was really looking forward to performing bharatanatyam before him. My eyes were glued on him during my performance. After my performance, I took one of my story books, which was written by him, to get it autographed. He had a graciousness about him and I believe all writers must have it. I was glad when he asked my name and said, “Nice name.” I immediately realised I was thankful to my parents for giving me such a nice name.

“Anyone can be a good writer if he or she has a strong mind and hope,” he had said. He went on to say that a writer can write on any field he or she desires. That day, he gave me a dream that whatever I will become in life, I shall make sure I am a good writer. Thank you, Mr. Bond for giving me my life’s dream.

The writer is in class VIII, Ridge School of Excellence, Kurnool
