I was one of the winners of the Disney Jet Set Go contest conducted by Disney Channel. I was one among the 33 winners on Disney’s Jet Airways plane to Disneyland! My school gave me permission to go on the trip and even promised to reschedule three of my exams once I got back!
After an early-lunch, all the winners along with their families started for the Jet Airways Hangar in Kalina, Santacruz(E). We participated in a press conference with media and Disney Channel cast and crew. It was wonderful meeting popular stars like Shruti Seth, Cyrus Broacha, Ananya (Nikki) and many others. The Jet Airways plane, painted with Disney characters, was unveiled. Mickey and Minnie Mouse came out of the plane and joined us for the fun event. We then returned to the hotel to get ready for our flight that was later in the night. After a buffet dinner, we departed for the Mumbai International Airport where we boarded the Jet Airways flight to Hong Kong!
It took five-and-a-half hours to reach Hong Kong. Once there, we started for Hong Kong Disneyland Resort by bus. We checked into Disney’s Hollywood Hotel. After freshening up, we took the shuttle service to the “Happiest Place on Earth” that’s Disneyland! I was extremely happy and had great fun with my family, enjoying all the attractions. I loved watching shows like Mickey’s PhilharMagic, Stitch Encounter, Golden Mickey and Festival of the Lion King. I took thrilling rides in Space Mountain, Mad Hatter Tea-Cups, Toy Soldier Parachute Drop and Jungle River Cruise. I was amazed to see the Disney in the Stars Fireworks atop the Sleeping Beauty Castle. We returned to Hollywood Hotel and enjoyed an international buffet in Mickey’s style at the restaurant, Chef Mickey. Next morning, we met Disney characters at the breakfast table at the Enchanted Garden Restaurant in Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and took pictures with them. I also took pictures with Rapunzel, Tinkerbell and Cinderella. Disney Channel had specially arranged a “Meet & Greet” event for all the winners at the Fantasy Gardens, where we met the five Disney stars — Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto! I loved the Flight of Fantasy Parade and the train ride.
Soon it was time to leave the Park and assemble at Hollywood Hotel to get to the airport. As we left Hong Kong and took off to Mumbai, I wished to return to the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’ soon! I know wishes do come true! Now that I am back in Kolkata, I am still dreaming about my amazing trip to Disneyland.
