What attracted you to Chennai and why did you start off with a luxury project?
Chennai is a burgeoning realty market and we wanted to enter with a quality product. The luxury segment is aggressively growing here and we see a huge potential for our first project — Tower of Adyar. As most luxury projects here are located on the outskirts, we decided to plan a residential development within the city. We chose L.B. Road, Adyar, for its proximity to Guindy and ECR, and well-developed infrastructure and recreational facilities. Besides, Chennai residents are well aware of real estate trends. They study a project thoroughly and go for it only if it suits their needs. In the South, it is important that the project caters to local tastes and not just provide frills. In our future projects, we may focus on mixed development.
What is your take on the city’s luxury market?
The concept of luxury homes in recent years has gone through a tremendous change. This has led developers to focus on building spacious homes coupled with modern amenities. As per real estate reports, Adyar last year recorded the highest growth in the city of 23 per cent, and is still growing.
