Deepak Dobriyal is all set for his latest project.

Deepak Dobriyal was recently in the Capital to promote his film “Chal Bhaag” along with other cast members. The comedy, the third to be directed by Prakash Saini is releasing this week. It is based on a fake encounter and revolves around three troublemakers, Deepak being one of them. The other two are Tarun Bajaj and Varun Mehra.

Deepak, who has worked in several films, including “Tanu Weds Manu” and “Omkara” among others, talks about his latest project as well as upcoming films..

Excerpts from the interview:

The movie “Chal Bhaag” is a drama enveloped in a with comedy, a risky genre. Do you think it will click well with the audience?

We hope so. We have made an honest film keeping in mind the interest of people. I watched the screening of the film recently and so far the response has been very positive and encouraging.

How was the experience of shooting in Delhi?

We shot extensively in Paharganj, Delhi 6 among other areas. Delhi to me is like second home. I've lived here and Delhi has always been fun.

You had met a major eye accident last year. Did it in anyway hamper the shooting of “Chal Bhaag”?

Yes, the accident was a major one and I really thought that I would loose out on my projects because of this but thankfully it is fine now. The shooting went perfectly well.

“Fugly”, backed by Akshay Kumar, is also releasing the same day. How much pressure is there?

“Fugly” is in altogether different space. Also, I am not yet a big name so these things don’t freak me out. I am used to seeing a multitude of films competing with mine. The focus is to entertain the audience and not to outdo anyone.

It is being said that you're playing the role of Arvind Kejriwal in one of your forthcoming films. Is it true?

It is not a biopic on Arvind Kejriwal. It is the story of how a common man rises to power and wishes to make a change. Something like we saw in “Nayak”. So it is a story of a common man with a little inspiration from Arvind Kejriwal.
