T he Hindu MetroPlus Theatre Fest gets off to a start with the staging of the first play The Snow Queen , this evening at 7.30 p.m.
Trestle Theatre from the U.K. sets the stage with its boisterous adaptation of The Snow Queen . Hans Christian Andersen’s chilling and mystifying fairytale is transformed by local playwright Anupama Chandrasekhar, into a rollicking ride through the heat, dust and colour of India. In the play, Gerda becomes Gauri, and Kai becomes Kumar. This is the India premiere of this retelling, which has been playing on the London stage.
