There would probably be very few people who haven’t heard of the famous ‘Romeo and Juliet’ by William Shakespeare. This play starts with a puppet theatre and four actors playing puppets break off their strings and perform their own version.

Although this play includes pop-culture references, Bollywood and inherent Indian sensibilities and idiosyncrasies, the essence of the original is kept intact.

About the group:

The unconventional bunch of people at Bangalore-based Tahatto, are dedicated to learning, practicing and presenting plays that are quirky, topical and entertaining. Firmly rooted in the belief that theatre is as much the property of the viewer as it is of the practitioner, Tahatto has no illusions of what they are, and how hard they need to work to be where they want to be. And the fun that comes along, is a bonus.

Director's quote:

When in doubt, always end with a quote from Shakespeare… “and to thine own self be true.”
