MetroPlus Theatre Fest: The 'Circus' by MacTrics comes to town on August 16 in Chennai

Inspired by the Charlie Chaplin movie of the same name, ‘Circus’ takes on present day Chaplin who arrives to Chennai searching for a job. Mistaking him for another person, the police chase him from the railway station to a circus where Chaplin wreaks havoc. Here, Chaplin finds love, manages to stumble inside a lion cage and finally lands a job in the circus. Whether Chaplin succeeds in his love forms the rest of the story.

Using mime and body theatre, this comedy caper pays a tribute to the legendary actor and filmmaker Charlie Chaplin.

About the group:

MacTrics, a mime and body theatre group was formed in 2009 under the guidance of Late Mr. Mithran Devanesan as the chief patron and Mr. Udhyaprakash as the chief advisor. The artistic directors of MacTrics are Victor and Sravanth. The team specialises in mime and body Theatre and also provides workshops in miming, body language, acting and theatrical acts. The team consists of young zealous group of mime artists who come from various parts of Chennai.
