P int Sized Love comprises of four short plays that are a zany take on love. “The plays are a comic outlook on love,” says Amit Singh, the director. The plays are Indian adaptations of American plays. Amit throws some light on them. “ All About Al is about how Abhi, who wants to break up with his girl friend Al or Alisha, tells his friend Ram about his intention. Ram then tells Abhi that if he was breaking up with Al, he could be with her. Obviously when your best friend says that, you wouldn’t want that to happen, so the play revolves around this situation. Date With A Stranger is about two strangers Tarun and Pooja who meet in a coffee shop and strike up a conversation. The last few minutes of the play is the most interesting part.” The other two plays are Thiruvananthapuram , in which a character who stays in Bangalore but “metaphysically” he is in Thiruvananthapuram, and Interrogation , in which a nameless couple meet up nine months after they break up.
The cast of Pint Sized Love includes Murali, Prashanth S, Akash, Shivani Gupta, Arjun, Kaushik, Juhi Sharma, Krithika and Amit Singh.
Pint Sized Love is ASAP's first production in Bangalore. “We want to reach out to as many people as possible. Bangalore has a good theatre audience,” says Amit. ASAP Production has been active in the Chennai theatre circuit for five to six years, Amit says. Some of ASAP’s earlier productions include Funny Money, Run For Your Wife, Rumors, Reservoir Dogs, Heroes – An Epic Spoof, Lost in the Jungle , among others.
