Britannia and Ranga Shankara have launched a series of programmes under “AHA! - International Theatre for Children Festival” from August 26 to September 6. AHA has been involved in presenting many expression plays in vibrant and colourful hues from across the planet.
The highlight of the festival would be plays like “Zapperdockel and the Wock”. The festival will also incorporate creative acts from Germany, Argentina and Australia, with best of Theatre for Children from India also putting up many acts. The festival will also comprise many workshops such as Pedagogues, a public forum by children on the Internet and New Media, a workshop for parents by child and adolescent psychiatrist Shekar Sheshadri on the topic, “Why Theatre?”. A host of other programmes and plays will also be screened as part of the festival.
The workshop by Dr. Sheshadri will be held on August 27 and “The Great Lalula” a theatre act aimed at infants and toddlers will be held on September 1. “The Garbage Mouse”, a delightful performance designed for the wit and imagination of three-year olds and above. This play deals with the adventures of a Garbage Mouse who is rendered homeless. Using ingenuity and imagination, the smart mouse creates a new life and encounters a scary picture book cat… what will she do now? How will she face this battle forms the crux of the story.
In an energetic 50-minute performance actor Jule Kracht, brings the story of Garbage Mouse to life.
