The Subramania temple in Vilvarani, where consecration took place yesterday (June 14) is unique. Here the presiding deity is in the form of a lingam.

Referred to as Nakshatra temple (where the 27 stars and the Kritika maidens gather on Kritigai to offer worship) the Valli Devasena Sameda Sri Swayambu Sivasubramania Swamy temple is thronged by devotees, especially those seeking parikaram from Rahu and Kethu.

Mandalabishekam begins today.

Vilvarani Murugan Temple is situated on the Polur- Thiruvannamalai Highway.

The kumbabishekam arrangements were supervised by Ms. Kavitha, Joint Commissioner, HR and CE Department, Villupuram, Vedha, Assistant Commissioner, A. Natarajan, executive officer and temple sivachariars – Muthu kumaraswamy, Sankaran, Jayakumar, Sundaramurthy and Pasupathi.
