The Triad Sahasranama Parayanam (TSP) group and the Triad Hindu Temple (Hindu Society of North Carolina – Triad Chapter) collaboratively conducted Sri Lalitha Maha Yagnam on April 13 in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA, on the occasion of Vasantha Navarathri, led by Sri Muralikrishna Sarma Bhuvanagiri. This event was the culmination of Sri Lalitha Koti Nama Paaraayanam by over 150 devotees from all over the U.S. and India, which began in December 2012.

A Panchaloha vigraham, with Makarathoranam of Sri Lalitha Maha Tripura Sundari, and Sri Chakra Maha Meru, with Koorma Peetam, were ordered and brought from India for the Maha yagnam.

The two-day event began on April 12 with Vigneshwara puja. Sri Lalitha homam was performed the next day with 18 homa kundams, each representing 18 Maha Sakti peetams. This was followed by Rudra homam, special pujas and purnahuthi. Cultural programmes, organised as part of the yagnam, included the vocal concert of Dr. Sankaran Mahadevan from Nashville, disciple of T.R. Subramaniam, and the dance performance ‘Sarvam Sakti Mayam,’ by the students of Meena Rajagopal of Raleigh, NC, disciple of Alarmel Valli. The evening concluded with Sri Chakra Maha Meru abishekam, kumkuma archanai and maha arati.
