The nine-day annual Brahmotsavam festival here on Sunday climaxed with the Chakrasnanam festival.

The ceremonies involved the immersion of the holy ‘disc’ of Lord Sudarsana in the holy waters of the Pushkarini , the temple tank.

Tens of thousands of devotees, who braved the chill and waited patiently on the granite steps of the temple tank, took a plunge into the waters as priests carried out the immersion ceremony.

Earlier, the processional deities were taken out in a pallaki utsavam from the main temple complex to Sri Bhuvaraha Swamy temple, along with the idol of Chakratalwar.
