Annamayya Pada Varadayani, a forum for promotion and propagation of Annamayya compositions among youth celebrated its third anniversary on an impressive note at Kalabharati Visakhapatnam.

Ever since its inception, the forum has been on forefront in propagation of Annamayya compositions training young and promising vocalists in its presentation, with focus on the lyrical and musical nuances involved in those compositions and an inherent devotional fervour in its structure. Spiritual and philosophical import that these compositions intrinsically carry along are all aspects that are instructed to the aspiring artistes and it also seeks to provide a platform for those budding artistes for their concerts.

On this occasion artiste Chaganti Kalyana Vasantha rendered select compositions with panache. Ably accompanied by H Ramcharan (violin), Mullapudi Raja Lakshmana Rao ()mridangam and Ayyalasomayajula SR Koundinya (ghatam), she was at her evocative best all through. She chose to sing in placid and leisurely manner lending due accent on the Bhakthi bhava in the compositions.

This emotive aspect in her rendition is remarkable. The way she brought out the raga bhava for the ragas like Sree, Shanmukkhapriya and Kharaharapriya evoked good response. She opened the concert with Namonamo Raghukulanayaka in raga Nata. Her fare included Kommmalaro in Bilahari, Srimannarayana in raga Bouli, Parama Purusha in Shanmukhaprpiya, Vandevasudevam in Sree, Okaparikokapari in Kharaharapriya and Narayanate in Behag. On this occasion the forum released a DVD ‘Annamayya Amrutha Lahari”.
