Tiruvaiyaru prepares for saint’s aradhana
Jan 12, 2012
Come January, the hectic music season in Chennai makes way for a much-awaited annual pilgrimage in Tiruvaiyaru, in south India. Tyagaraja, one of the Trinity in Carnatic music, is hailed as a great saint-composer. As a remembrance, on Pushya Bahula Panchami, several thousands of people and hundreds of musicians sing the five Pancharatna kritis in unison at Tiruvaiyaru.
