‘Voices Within’, the coffee-table book authored by vocalists Bombay Jayashri and T.M. Krishna, in association with Mythili Chandrasekar, is now available in Tamil as ‘Ezhu Swarangalukkul Ethanai Ragam’ published by Vikatan Prasuram.
The book is a tribute to seven stalwarts who enriched the world of Carnatic music — Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar, T.N.Rajarathnam Pillai, Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, G.N. Balasubramaniam, Palghat Mani Iyer, M.S. Subbulakshmi and T.R. Mahalingam (Mali).
In addition to inspiring anecdotes and insights to the masters’ music, the Tamil translation by Veeyesvee features some rare black and white photographs of the greats, as does the original.
