It’s fit for a king. Top-notch musicians from across the country get together for a Michael Jackson tribute concert, Heal the World, in the city on August 29, at the Wesley School Grounds, Royapettah.

The line-up of performers includes Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Siddharth and Raman Mahadevan, Srinivas, Benny Dayal, Karthik, Sunitha Sarathy, Suresh Peters, Blaaze, Naresh Iyer, Suchitra, Suvi Suresh and Haricharan.

Eminent Western music artistes such as Timothy Madhukar, Anu Cheyur, Mili, Sanjeev Thomas, Roshni, Kavitha Belagi, Andrea Jeremiah, the MMA choir and Pratika will be part of the show.

Viji Cheyur, Rahul Gopal, Allwyn, Natasha Pinto, Keba, Leon James, Arjun Cheyur, Selvaganesh, Umashankar, Sudhin Prabhakar, Jim Satya, Mishko and Mathew will also perform.

The concert, being organised by the Rotary Club of Chennai Coastal, coincides with the King of Pop’s birthday and proceeds from the show will go to the Autism Society of India.

Says Pravin Mani, musical director and producer of the show, “MJ’s passion, talent, songs and involvement with humanitarian causes have etched a permanent mark on my mind. This is my salute to him and my sincere effort to help autistic children. Heal the World will be one of the biggest Western music concerts here.” The show will be choreographed by John Britto and features performers from the JB Dance Academy.

The costumes are designed by Priya Rajesh. The three-hour performance will be a glitzy event, featuring some of the best technical talent, including audio engineer KJ Singh and Michael, visual director Shiran Mather. The sound and light production is handled by Reynolds from Bangalore. The event is managed by Exodus.
