Tamil music fest begins today

The Margazhi Thamizh Isai Vizha, a Tamil music festival, organised jointly by Maximum Media and Kumara Rajah Muthiah Muthamizh Mandram, begins today. It will be held at Chettinad Vidyashram Kumara Raja Muthiah Hall.

Leading musicians, up and coming artistes and NRI children will be part of the festival. The programmes will begin from 4 p.m. onwards everyday.

Awards to be conferred

Sudha Raghunathan will be conferred the title Tamil Isai Vani. Kumara Rani Meena Muthiah will also be honoured on December 18. Veteran musician M. Balamuralikrishna will present the awards.

Inaugural concert

The inaugural concert will be by Sanjay Subrahmanyan.

The festival, till December 24, will feature S. Sowmya, Neyveli Santhanagopalan, Vijay Siva, Abhishek Raghuram, Sikkil Gurucharan, Gayathri Venkatraghavan and Udayalur Kalyanaraman.
