Symphony TV lifetime achievement award for Yesudas

Renowned singer K. J. Yesudas has been selected for the lifetime achievement award of Symphony TV for the year 2010.

The award was being given for his outstanding contributions to Indian music world, V. Krishnakumar, Managing Director, Symphony TV said at a press conference here.

The award, carrying a cash of Rs. One lakh, citation and memento, would be presented to Mr. Yesudas by Jnanpith laureate O. N. V. Kurup at a function to be held on October 2. T. K. A. Nair, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister would be the chief guest.

Singers Vidhu Pratap, Kalyani and Aparna Rajeev were chosen for young achievers awards. They would get Rs. 20,000 each, citation and memento.

Earlier recipients of lifetime achievement award of Symphony TV are P. Bhaskaran, O. N. V. Kurup (poet/lyricist), K. P. P. Nambiar (technocrat), K. P. Udhayabhanu (singer) and M. K. Arjunan (music director).
