Ravikiran, Unnikrishnan and Palanivel come together to perform 'Saptashabda', consisting of seven compositions with varying instrumentation.
The artistes need no introduction to music lovers. Chitravina N. Ravikiran has consolidated on his stunning debut at the age of two (in 1969) to be hailed as ‘perhaps the greatest slide instrumentalist today’ by Radio National, Australia, and acclaimed for his ‘teasing precision’ by The New York Times. Regarded highly as a versatile composer, he is much sought after in world music and dance projects. The resonant Unnikrishnan is easily the most popular vocalist of his generation among those who straddle the twin fields of classical and film music.
Haridwaramangalam A K Palanivel is a legend on the tavil who has regaled audiences across the world in major festivals for over five decades. Charumathi Raghuraman’s enchanting approach and Chaitanya Kumar’s capability will bolster the concert while Bangalore Amrit and Giridhar Udupa are well known for their effervescent rhythms.
The show will feature traditional compositions interspersed with contemporary compositions and arrangements that employ Ravikiran's award-winning concept, Melharmony. The concert will consist of seven compositions with varying instrumentation that showcase the tonality of seven of the most popular sounds in Indian music today, including the voice, and also feature seven different rhythms in 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 13 and 15 units.
