After having played at Tomorrowland in Boom, Belgium last month Dutch Dj Allure is visiting India on a three city tour of Mumbai, Vizag and Hyderabad. Allure shared his excitement about playing here in an email interview with MetroPlus.

This is your second visit to India. What are your expectations of music lovers in India?

Well first of all I am happy to be back in India. I love the country, the people, the food. My expectations from the music lovers in India are high. I know that the vibe is always good and people know their music. So looking forward to be back.

What are the latest trends from the world of EDM that you will be bringing to India from Europe? Is there any particular sub genre that you will be focusing on?

Personally I don’t like the term ‘sub genre’, but to give a view on what I will be playing: expect an energetic mix of the finest house, trance and perhaps a slice of techno inside. I never prepare any set of mine upfront so I will touch and look at what the people are into and will give them an EDM experience they won’t forget!

Tell us about you album Kiss From The Past. How did it fall into place?

The album Kiss From The Past was a tribute to a fantastic time. With Tiësto involved as co-producer, it was a privilege to work on this masterpiece. The name said it all: it was time to move on music wise, but with the album we gave our fans one last Kiss From The Past. You can hear the pureness on the album and everyone was very satisfied with the end result.

When growing up, what kind of music did you listen to and who were you influenced by?

At home, I was fed up with the Motown sound and especially Michael Jackson for example. My folks also had big love for ABBA, so it was a diverse musical journey in the beginning. Later on, I got fascinated by some Dutch club legends such as Joost van Bellen and techno heroes such as Sven Väth. Back in the days it was always a mad fiesta with these legends in the Dutch club scene.

Being associated with Tiësto for so long and finally having him promote you as an artist — how has that journey been?

That journey has been great Truth is that I owe a lot of the success to Tiësto’s helping hand. It was a pure privilege to work with him in the studio and to be touring in the United States with him for example. However, I am happy to stand on my own two feet now and the taste of success is good.

Every genre reaches the peak of its popularity and slowly fades away or merges with another genre. Do you think EDM is at its peak today?

EDM has been around for more than 20 years now and will be even bigger in future. It’s getting more accepted by a bigger crowd and with its diversity ,it will keep itself fresh. So the peak is not in sight yet.
