This year, The Hindu will provide comprehensive, high-quality, critical coverage of the Chennai Music Season in the main edition, in a special supplement on Friday, and online.
The Chennai City Pages will offer a series of features capturing the spirit and substance of the season: we will present in these pages young talent emerged or just emerging on the concert stage as well as veterans who have returned year after year for the sheer joy of performing before a knowledgeable and appreciative audience. A list of interesting concerts for rasikas, a long-felt need, will be offered this time. We will also try to capture the lighter side of the festival.
While The Hindu's Friday Review — our quality art and culture weekly supplement — will cover music concerts and dance recitals across the city, a special four-page broadsheet supplement, dedicated to critical reviews, replaces the seasonal tabloid that we have been bringing out in the last six years. With its size and spread, The Music Season , delivered along with Friday Review , will have all the elements that distinguished the tabloid, and more. The first edition rolls out on December 9.
At our website, you can find The Hindu’s >Chennai Margazhi Season page with enhanced coverage of the kutcheri experience that the digital platform provides. For connoisseurs and artistes, we have laid out an audio-visual treat: in-depth reviews, photo galleries, and >audio podcasts .
