Navaratri fete

It’s festive time again at the Sree Erinjeri Karthiyayani Temple, Pazhaya Nadakkavu, Thrissur. The temple celebrates the Navaratri fete with a series of classical concerts from October 14 to 24 . The fete begins with a vocal concert by Thrissur V. Ramachandran , accompanied by M.A. Sundaresan (violin) and K.V. Prasad (mridangam) and Thripunithura Radhakrishnan (ghatam).

On the following day, October 15, is a concert by Suma Pisharody . She’ll be accompanied by Vayala Rajendran (violin), Palakkad Mahesh (mriddangam), and Tripunithira Kannan (ghatam). Catch the Malladi Brothers in concert on October 16. They’ll be accompanied by T.H. Subramanian (violin), K.V. Prasad (mridangam) and Perukavu Sudheer (ghatam).

On October 17 is a concert by Mathangi Satyamoorthy . The artiste will be accompanied by Edapally Ajith Kumar (violin), Palakkad Mahesh (mridangam) and Elamkulam Deepu (ghatam). Mini and Priyadarshini ’s concert is on October 18, accompanied by Ramesh (violin), Kalamandalam Madhusoodanan (mridangam) and Thrikakkara Y.N. Santharam.

The concert on October 19 is by V.R. Dileep Kumar , accompanied by Viju S. Anand (violin), Nanjil Arul (mridangam), Udupi Sreedhar (ghatam) and Kalamandalam Saiju (morsing). Trichy Ganesan ’s concert is on October 20. C. Rajendran (violin), Thrissur B. Jayaram (mridangam), Manoharan (ghatam), will accompany the vocalist.

On October 21, Mahadevan Sankaranarayanan , son of T.V. Sanakaranarayanan, takes to the stage. He’ll be accompanied by Vayala Rajendran (violin), Alappuzha Chandrashekaran Nair (mridangam) and Kurichitanam Ananthakrishnan (ghatam). On October 22 is a concert by Ranganatha Sharma , accompanied by C.S. Anuroop (violin), K. Jaykrishnan (mridangam) and Payyanur Govinda Prasad (morsing). O.S.Thyagarajan ’s concert is on October 23. T.H. Subramanian (violin) Kovai Prakash (mridangam), Tripunithura Kannan (ghatam) accompany.

The fete concludes with a concert by Chengottai Harihara Subramanian , accompanied by Trivandrum Sampath (violin), K.M.S. Mani (mridangam) and Udupi Sreekanth (gangira). All the concerts are at 6.30 p.m.
