With their first album to be released soon, The Fourth Submission is all set to win hearts by creating good music.
There was this bunch of boys from Madras Christian College — all from different disciplines but still good friends — who would attend various gigs around the city. The common factor that brought them together was music. Then, one day, it struck Nivin and Godfrey that they could also create music, not just listen. Thus was born The Fourth Submission.
Individual specialities
Nivin is more into hard Rock/Metal while Mike and Godfrey are influenced by Jazz and Hard Rock. Akim is a contemporary guitarist.
How they work
Nivin writes the lyrics while Godfrey, Mike and Akim compose the music. We take our own time for the comps. Initially we had trouble in getting space to jam together but that got sorted out later.
Upcoming album
“Reciprocal” is their first album to be released in March 2013. Four songs are done and the other two need more effort and creativity.
Inspiration and support
We are inspired by artists like Steve Vai, Chris Coleman, Larry Carlton, Myles Kennedy, Austin Winkler and Billy Shean. As far as support goes, the crowd that gathers for our gigs is the biggest support, not to mention all those friends who pitch in every time we need help.
Five years from now?
(Laughs) We'd love to tour Europe and play at the Dubai Rock Fest.
Unforgettable moment
An event at WCC in 2011 when Godfrey forgot his guitar and ran back all the way home to bring it.
