International pop star Lady Gaga, who is all set to perform for the first time in India on Sunday, says she has some surprises up her sleeve for her fans in New Delhi.

The 25-year-old Grammy-winning singer is famous for her eccentricity -- be it in her performances or outfits -- and says the same will hold true for her concert at the Formula One after-party in Greater Noida on October 30.

“I work very hard, so every one of my performances are so different. We have built a special stage for the show on Sunday which is unique for India.

“I am going to perform some of my collaborations with Indian DJs. My outfit is going to be a hybrid of my vision and the Indian vision. I have modernised it a bit. There will be some surprises and I am very excited for you to see my show,” Ms. Gaga said at a press conference in the Capital on Friday.

This being her first visit to India, Ms. Gaga said she is looking forward to seeing more of the country and its people.

“I am extremely grateful to the people for welcoming me here. The sights in India are beautiful, but most beautiful are the people. I can’t wait to come back here and see more of my fans.”

The American singer burst onto the international pop scene with her debut album ‘The Fame’ in 2008 and has grabbed headlines with her bizarre and unique style sense as well as her music. When asked how she strikes a balance between her public persona and her real self, Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, said it’s her family which keeps her grounded.

“My family helps me strike a balance. They keep me grounded. My life is similar to many people in this room today. I am just a girl trying to make her parents proud.”

Her India visit is a part of her tour to promote her latest album ‘Born This Way’ Gaga says the album is inspired by her fans and is about reincarnation and liberation.

“The album is about reincarnation in this life, not in the next. It’s about liberating yourself through love and music. I don’t believe you should be trapped by anything,” said Ms. Gaga.

She also said her music is not influenced by globalisation of contemporary music as she believes in experimenting. “In America, it is hard for people to believe that a blonde girl writes her own music and plays her instruments too. So I like to experiment and discover something new.”
