The maestro has come up with good numbers in “Mathiya Chennai”
The audio of Mathiya Chennai, produced by Raaptor Media Films, was recently released at Kamala Theatre. The film, directed by duo Vivekanand-Veera Singam, has music by Ilaiyaraaja.
The president of Tamil Film Producers Council, Rama. Narayanan, launched the audio, and Hansraj Saxena of Sun Pictures received the first copy. Among those present included Abhirami Ramanathan, Kalaipuli G. Sekaran, choreographer-actor Raghavendra Lawrence, director Bharathiraja, his son Manoj, Ganja Karuppu, Charlie, Chidambaram, owner of Kamala Theatre, and director C. Azhagappan.
There are six songs in the album, and the best is ‘Un Vaazhve Oru Kathaiaagalaam’ sung by Sadhana Sargam, with impressive lyrics by Vaale. Ilaiyaraaja has sung ‘Yezhaikindha Ulagamendru’ penned by Mu. Metha. Rita has sung ‘Unnai Patri Sonnaal’ well-written by Pazhani Bharathi, but, sadly, the words are not audible enough.
The rest of the songs are rendered by Vijay Yesudas, Tippu and Rahul Nambiyar. One of them is written by Muthulingam (‘Kallikuppam Ganapathikku’), one by Na. Muthukumar (‘Ilavayasu Pasangalaithaan’) and another by Vaale (‘Yaendaa Dei’).
