The Nungambakkam Cultural Academy Trust (Ph: 2483 4823), will celebrate its 40th anniversary for 41 days commencing from December 4. The event will be held at Rama Rao Kala Mantap. Eminent artists will be honoured with 'Kala Sironmani' award on the inaugural day. Each award includes a citation, a gold medallion and a purse of Rs. 10,000.
The following is the list of awards and the awardees. Sangeetha Kala Siromani - Sowmya (music); Nrithya Kala Siromani - Shylaja Ramji (Bharatanatyam) and Nataka Kala Siromani - Karur Rangaraja (Tamil Theatre). Veteran musician M. Balamuralikrishna will be honoured with the Life Time Achievement Award which includes a citation, a gold medal and a purse of Rs. 5,000.

Carnatic music - Sarojini Sundaresan; namasankritanam - Udayalur Kalyanaraman; Tamil Theatre - Augusto; Kuchipudi -Sailaja; Bharatanatyam - Priya Jayaraman and Contribution to Fine Arts - Karthik Rajagopal.
