Members of Rasi Devotional and Cultural Trust organised a CD-release function recently at Kalabharathi. The devotional album titled ‘Hanuma Vijayam' includes eight devotional numbers with lyrics by various poets like Tumbali Sivaji, Gurucharan, V.V. Sarma, Rajgopal, Ramajogayya Sastry, Ramu and Jonnavittula and it has been set to music by Palagummi Rajagopal. Singers S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, Rajagopal, Nityasanthoshini and Suhasini have lent their voice in the album. While chief guest for the evening ., S. Vijayakumar chairman of Vijaynirman Co. Ltd., released the CD, VMA president, A. Prasanna Kumar spoke on the occasion. The evening concluded with the felicitation of music director M. Purna Chandra Rao.

The final part which went for more than two-and-half hours was a musical session with local singers rendering Hindi and Telugumelodies G. Ramnarayan sang Rafi melodies (about six numbers). Rajgopal, David and Parvateesam and other male singers sang Mahendra Kapoor and Jesudas' songs. Ganti Usha, Suhasini Anand, Sasi Rani, Shailaja and Annapoorna stood out for singing solos of Lata, Janaki Leela, Suseela, Vani Jayaram besides a few duets with Ramnarayan.

Sai, Ramana Rao on key-boards along with two tablas, pads, sitar and jazz lent the orchestral support.
