A two-day session of devotional and Telugu film numbers was enjoyed by music loversat Kalabharati in Visakhapatnam. The event was hosted by Delhi Telugu Academy in association Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam (TTD) and Sri Venkateswara Bhakthi Channel. The event showcased seasoned and promising talents in varying shades of excellence and expertise.
On the second-day Vaggeyakara vaibhavam a musical feature by Chaitanya Brothers Varanasi Venkateswara Sarma and Bukkapatnam Krishnamachayulu brought out the varied dimensions of devotional passion in a string of compositions of different composers. Disciples of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Nedunuri Krishnamurthy made a spirited presentation combining lyrical nuances and musical charms.
The duo excelled in giving an emotional rendition of the chosen compositions. With a perfect sync in tone and timber, they traversed the chosen octave with ease. Their accent on lyrical import of the composition blended with good diction. The way they negotiated the intricate phrase of chosen raga and finer shades of sahitya further beautified the presentation.
The duo began with Vandeham of Annamyya in raga Hamsadwani. Each composition unfolded distinct hue of a devotee’s emotional state of mind. Narayana Theertha bore out splendid facets of Lord Krishna’s cosmic play; that of Ramadas unveiled a devotee’s unswerving submission at the lotus feet of the Lord, while Thygaraja’s are full of Rama bhakthi in its satwaguna shades. Their choice of krithis included Emayya Rama of Ramadas in raga Kambhoji, Okaparikokapari in Kharaharapriya, Manasuloni maramamu of Thyagaraj in Hindola, Venkatachalanilaya of Purandaradas in Sindhubhairavi and Emani Varninthunu of Kantha Krishnamacharyulu in raga Subhali.
Mavuduri Satyanarayana’s bow reveled in rich sangathis on violin, Mandapaka Ravi on mridangam, Kumar raja on flute, Anand on tabla and Y. Venkateswara rao rhythms lent good support.
