Music lovers get ready to be regaled by a slew of artistes performing live on a digital platform. LaunchCast, a new property by >www.artistaloud.com , an independent artists’ platform in India, will have performers every fortnight, an exercise that started on November 1. LaunchCast is a live stage set for 12 weeks where some of the biggest Indie artistes will sing and perform while recording their album live on stage. The online performance will be digitally distributed by ArtistAloud.

The show has a line-up of artistes such as Shefali and Joe Alvares, Shweta and Shraddha Pandit, Sid Coutto, Shilpa Rao, Ankur Tewari, Raghav Sachar and others.

In the first webisode, Shilpa Rao launched her album Best Of Naturally Us . Shilpa says, “Soumini (Soumini Sridhara Paul, associate VP of ArtistAloud) and I kept having conversations about how I should experiment with newer media. When this concept came up, I decided to give it a shot. When you do anything live, you have to be more alert and aware.”

About launching her album at this forum, Shilpa says, “More than launching an album, the bigger initiative is that this is being done live. It’s my, along with my band’s, interpretation of five songs — a mix of music; one is stripped down to the guitarist, one, a full band song. While I have composed two songs, two are inspired by folk music and ‘Challa’ is my version. My attempt is honest and through this I’m trying to reach out to my fans.”
