The Music Academy will play host to a Carnatic Choir, conceptualised and directed by Bombay Jayashri.
To be held on September 15, it will feature 18 kids in the age group of 9 and 16. The 80-minute programme will see these young ones showcase their musical talent. The kritis of the Trinity will mainly figure in the programme.
It is a fund-raiser event, and the proceeds will go to Drishti Eye Care for its free cataract surgery campaign. The event is organised by Bhoomija, a charitable trust. It has till now showcased 37 performing art programmes. For the first time, it held the children’s choir - to celebrate its first anniversary - on August 2 (MLR Convention Centre) and August 3 (Chowdiah Memorial Hall) in Bangalore.
K.J. Dileep and Meera Sundar will play the violin. Sumesh Narayanan will play the mridangam. Ms. Jayashsri has formed a team comprising mainly her students (Abinaya Shenbagaraj, Chitra Poornima Satish, Pavithra Rames, Meera Sundar and Swetha Sriram) to guide these kids.
