Buckingham Palace will for the first time hold a Bollywood music and dance programme to entertain guests as part of President Prathiba Patil’s visit to the UK.

A 17-member British Asian dance group Nutkut will stage the programme ‘Bollywood Steps’ at the Buckingham palace on Tuesday.

The dance has been choreographed by Simmy Gupta.

The show will last 15 minutes and thereafter a reception will be held for guests including leading British Indians, a palace spokesman said.

Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip will receive the invitees including actors Meera Syal, Sanjeev Bhaskar, cricketer Monty Panesar and Vikram Solanki, TV newsreader Krishnan Gurumurthy and Tom Singh, founder of ‘New Look’, a chain of high street fashion stores.

The famous Veeraswamy restaurant will provide the traditional Indian food and canapés.
