As part of the ongoing Madras Week celebrations, pianists Anil Srinivasan and Sharik Hasan (jazz piano) present the first ever ‘piano duet’ concert on August 30, 7 p.m., at the Goethe Institut, Max Mueller Bhavan, Rytland Gate. Two pianos playing simultaneously explore the genres of classical and jazz music from around the world.

As a very special integration to this event, the children of Chennai (from across private schools and Corporation schools) present the works of Chennai-based composers from across the ages. These pieces will underscore and introduce the collaborative themes and pieces that the two pianists will then present. This is part of the >Music Literacy Project .*

Nearly 80 children are expected to perform, trained by Dr Sudha Raja and the team at Rhapsody Music Education, an initiative to take a multi-genre approach to music education to Chennai schools.

The event is supported by Swathi Soft Solutions and other well-wishers.
