The December Music Season has now advanced to November and spills over to January. Connoisseurs from the world over… the USA and Australia, and from Madurai and Bangalore, converge on Chennai and hop from sabha to sabha to listen to their favourite singers or watch classical dance.

The makers of Fortune Sunflower edible oil spotted this trend and figured that rasikas would welcome a special shuttle bus between sabhas during the season.

It took shape for the first time two years ago when the Fortune Carnatic Express, a free sabha shuttle service, was launched.

It was so successful that the Fortune Carnatic Express is now into its third year and looks like it will become a regular feature of the season.

A number of these brightly painted, yellow, 13-seater Mahindra vans ply between all the major sabhas (only the sabhas, don't expect other stops) across the city every day, from December 14 to January 1,2010. Delicious munchies cooked in Fortune Sunflower Oil are available on the buses so one can snack up comfortably between cutcheris!

The Fortune Carnatic Express runs on weekdays, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays - 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The sabhas: Mylapore area : Mylapore Fine Arts, Brahma Gana Sabha, Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, PS High School and Narada Gana Sabha.T.Nagar area: Vani Mahal, Mudhra, Nungambakkam Cultural Academy (Karnataka Sangha), Krishna Gana Sabha, Indian Fine Arts Society (Bala Mandir German Hall).
