WRITTINGS & REMINISCENCES.

WRITTINGS & REMINISCENCES.

Vijay Siva writes, about Mahadevan, “Speaks the truth without rancour or hurt…” “He had the power of positive vibration…” says Neyveli Santhanagopalan.

Both the Carnatic vocalists were talking about the venerated music critic K. S. Mahadevan, whose written word left a deep impact on not just classical performers of his time, but also scores and scores of his readers. Indeed, KSM, as he was affectionately called, was a name to reckon with in the classical and journalistic worlds.

To commemorate his birth centenary in 2013, his family put together some of his writings and brought out this valuable tome. Besides various articles culled out of The Hindu , The Indian Express and The Times of India , the collection contains letters, rare photographs and tributes by various artists such as V.P. Dhananjayan, Vijayalakshmy Subramaniam, dancer Urmila Satyanarayanan and vainika Jayanthi Kumaresh.

A mine of information, this tome makes for interesting reading.
