Efforts are on to reconstruct Sri Parameswari Ambal Sameda Parama Sundarar temple, Vazhkai Puthagalur village (Tiruputhagai), Nannilam taluk, Tiruvarur district. Ancient and dilapidated, the temple is one of the ten sarpa kshetras, in the list of Tiruppamburam, Tiruppambani, etc.
Devotees have seen a cobra visit the shrine of Paramasundarar every Pradosham and coil itself around the lingam. It leaves after shedding its skin. Balalayam was performed in 2009 and renovation is making slow progress. Those who wish to contribute may contact Sri Mahalakshmi Charitable Trust at 04428152533, 9840053289 and 9940053289.
