The Ashtabandhana Maha Samprokshanam of Sri Rukmini Samedha Venugopalaswamy Temple in Maduravasal Village in Thiruvallur District is scheduled to take place on June 14, between 9 and 10.30 a.m. and the rituals preceding the samprokshanam will begin from June 12, 4 p.m.

The temple, just 36 kilo metres from Chennai located near Periyapalayam on Chennai-Tirupati Road, has separate niches for Lord Krishna and Rukmini. The locals believe that, if one worships the deity in this temple, which is said to have been constructed 150 years ago, it is sure to be bestowed with health, happy married life, progeny and peace.

After many decades, the temple is being renovated by the devotees with help from philanthropists.
