The kumbabhishekam for the Temple of Karpagambikai Samedha Sri Bhaktavatsaleswarar at Sirugamani Village, 22 km from Tiruchi, on the Tiruchi-Karur route, was last performed 50 years ago. The temple, which is said to have been built in the 11th century, during the reign of Rajendra Chola, has been designed in such a way that the main deity is surrounded by Narthana Vinayakar, karpaga Vinayakar, Dakshinamurthy, Valli Devasena Samedha Subramanya, Durgai, Sandikeswarar and the Navagrahas.
